Your colony is you in the middle and the people you’ve bonded with around you. A bond is the link between two pengs, and it always points both ways — if they’re in your colony, you’re in theirs.

They drop into your colony the moment they finish — and you into theirs.

They tap Bond with me — it becomes a request waiting on your compass.
You approve it, or decline — and they're told nothing.

Your crush? Your favorite celebrity? Pick their peng, or answer the four questions as them. Nobody is contacted — we never ask for a way to reach them.
They appear on your compass only. The read is yours right away.

When someone adds you
Bond requests
Someone asked for you by @handle. Approve to bond, or decline — they’re never told who declined, or why.
Your arrivals dock
Someone added you or joined your link. Welcome them onto your compass, or leave them out — silently, and never for good.
In Settings, choose whether new bonds land automatically or wait for your review first.
Read the chemistry
When you add someone you say how you know them — Partner, Crush, Friend, Family, Colleague — and that picks whether your free read is written through the romantic or the friendship lens. That label is yours alone; they never see how you filed them.

Getting started FAQ
- What is a colony on MyPengs?
- Your colony is your side of MyPengs: you in the middle and the people you've bonded with around you. Everyone has their own colony, and each bond is two-way — if someone is in your colony, you're in theirs.
- How do I invite someone to my colony?
- Open your compass, tap Add a peng, and grab your invite link — one link works for a group chat and drops everyone who joins into your colony, with you landing in theirs. You can also invite one person by email, or share your @handle page so they can ask to bond with you.
- What happens to the other person when I invite them?
- They get the ten-second quiz. If they already have a peng, joining is a single tap. Either way you both end up in each other's colonies, and the chemistry read between you is free for both of you.
- Can I add someone without contacting them?
- Yes. If you already know which penguin someone is, you can add them yourself — pick their peng, or answer the four questions as them. Nobody is contacted, we never ask for a way to reach them, and the read is yours alone.
- Someone added me — do I have to accept?
- No. A bond request from someone's handle page waits at the top of your compass until you approve or decline it, and declining tells them nothing. In Settings you can also switch new bonds to Review first, so every arrival waits in your dock until you welcome it.
- Can people see how I labeled them?
- No. How you know someone — partner, crush, friend, family, colleague — is private to you, and so is any nickname you give them. It only decides whether your chemistry read is written through a romantic or a friendship lens.
- Do I have to pay to connect with people?
- No. The quiz, your peng, your full report, your colony, and every chemistry read between you and the people in it are free. The optional paid readings are deeper reads drawn from the chart you were born with.
